MECHANICS

Mechanics at PHI Health are the backbone of our air medical operations, ensuring our state-of-the-art aircraft is always ready to respond to emergencies with precision and reliability. As an A&P Mechanic, you play an essential role in our life-saving mission of moving communities to health.

As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for daily maintenance, inspections, and repairs on our aircraft. You’ll work closely with our team to maintain the airworthiness of our aircraft, investigating and repairing everything related to the airframe and powerplant. Your keen eye for detail and ability to handle unusual situations are essential to keeping our fleet in top condition.

Under the direction of the Lead Mechanic, you’ll manage inventory, ensure the safety and security of company assets at field bases, and maintain close communication with team members. You’ll prepare reports, requisitions, inventories, and personally certify that work accomplished complies with FAA, manufacturer, and PHI Health requirements.

How Do I Become a Mechanic?

Mechanics are crucial to ensuring our fleet is always ready to respond to emergencies. If you’re able to investigate and repair anything and everything to do with the air frame or powerplant and have a keen interest in continuing to develop your skills – join our team!

At PHI Air Medical, our Mechanics must have:

  • High School diploma
  • Hold an FAA Mechanic Certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant
  • At least 2 years of Maintenance experience as a Certified Mechanic
  • Possess basic skills in communications
  • Computer skills
  • Must be able to pass pre-placement physical exam including functional capacity exam (strength and flexibility assessment, lift up to 100 pounds) drug screening and background screen
  • For Mechanics in the PHI Roving Maintenance Team
  • Sheet metal repair and/or Avionics troubleshooting/repair skills
  • Must be able to travel frequently, sometimes with short notice during regularly scheduled hitch
  • Must be able to work night shifts where maintenance events dictate

Mechanic Salary Range & Benefits
